12th day: Forest – Lindau – Munich

Today it was not far to go to Lindau.
Here I could see the lake Bodensee for the first time.

I got my last stamp in the church in Lindau, had lunch and did a little bit of sight seeing in Lindau.

Then I went to Munich by train.

If I find the right words, I will write something about the Camino ‚magic‘ in the next days… why I went more than one time.

11th day: Simmerberg – Forest

Most of the pilgrims I met have only time to walk until today and want to walk to Lindau. This is a long walk for one day and I have got time until tomorrow. My sister E. slept this year one day in the forest. I have the equipment in my backpack but I have not tested that equipment. So I thought I want to try it this night.

I walked with M. to Scheidegg and then we had to say goodbye… maybe and hopefully we see us again.

I had lunch together with 2 wasps.

There were waterfalls…

I searched for a place for the night and I found one.

Leave no trace… So that the place looks the next morning as nothing has happened.

10th day: Weitnau – Simmerberg

M. asked if we could go together today because has has no maps and gpx tracks on his smartphone. And today the description in his guide book is not clear. So we walked together…

We saw happy cows, a tractor rally and churches.

I did not book a room because I did not know exactly how to plan the last days… but there was still a place for me in the Gasthaus Krone where M. slept. So we ate together and talked a lot.

8th day: Geisenried – Kempten

From the fog in the morning to the blue sky.

In the Kempter Wald (forest of Kempten) there is the Waldkapelle.

There was the pilgrim M. We walked together for some time. He asked where to get the Camino shell… and so I gave him my second one as a present.

In the evening we ate together at the ‚Goldene Traube‘.

In the evening I met K., a friend of my wife B. and me… we talked a lot and I could sleep in her house.

Thank you very much, K.!

7th day: Lechbruck am See – Geisenried

Today I went on the Auerberg. You could not look very far, but the church is open.

There are not only cows but also horses…

Elfie’s Pilgerquartier in Marktoberdorf is booked out… so I go a little bit further to Geisenried that the way to Kempten is shorter tomorrow. After more than 30km and the way up to the Auerberg I am glad to arrive. In the evening I am part of the group of regulars (Stammtisch) in Geisenried.

6th day: Rottenbuch – Lechbruck am See

There was some fog in the morning.

The church Wieskirche was closed when I arrived… but pelegrina S. said anyway that she did not like it so much.

Then the path went through the moor.

Today I walked about 22km and there were not many hills. As I arrived in Lechbruck it was raining… and it is good to have a room because it should rain most of the night.

5th day: Wessobrunn – Rottenbuch

After Wessobrunn I went on my own again. The weather and scenery was very nice.

The path was steep up to the Hohen Peißenberg with a great view on the Alps.

Afterwards I arrived at the bakery that just had closed… so I went 1km extra to a supermarket where there was a stamp for my credential as well.

In the Ammertal there were warning signs.

And yes, the path was an adventure. Maybe a walk for the kids in the future.

4th day: Andechs – Wessobrunn

I slept the last night at home and went back to Kloster Andechs by public transport.
The way to Pähl was nice, often with big trees.

Afterwards there was almost no shadow… but a nice scenery with the Alps…

In Raisting I met T. again and we went on to Wessobrunn (25 km). The Tassilolinde is an tree, that is almost 1000 years old:
https://de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tassilolinde
… and the church…

3rd Day: Schäftlarn – Kloster Andechs

Today  I went with T. to Starnberg. We saw the planetary way where S. created the design and I made the website with additional information.

We ate very good at the Seestub’n Percha. Then T. left to repack the too heavy backpack.

I went on to Kloster Andechs. The church was open.

These were about 26km. And additional 4km to the station of Herrsching. That was tough for the 3rd day…  I feel my feet and legs… But hopefully not too much.
